I did an online search for 'Canada marching band hat badge'... unfortunately I found nothing. :dontknow:
Although, hat badges for the police services in Canada do look similar. :icon_scratch:

Thank you for the replies. this has helped broaden my search and have located a similar pin, different era. Original-Vintage-Wwi-Wwii-Cap.jpg , still not the exact pin, I am not going to call this Identified just yet as the sorce of the photo has no idea, ww1/ww2 for this pin.

Just tidying up some blasts from the past (including some very ancient ones), largely for the benefit of anyone searching the site for information.

The one you found on the net is British army. This one, like yours, with maple leaves rather than oak leaves, is Canadian. Some versions (I think cap badges rather than sleeve badges) have a crown at the top which helps date them but, without that, dating is difficult.
