mysterious deep green rock...?

So imagine walking through NC and seeing a huge pile of deep green rubble. I go and investigate and see that it is a whole bunch of rocks that are broken down. I collect a few samples, and this is the only one that I have kept. There is what seems to be small pieces of iron embedded in it, but after that, I am in complete mystery of what this could be.

I took a look, and sorry, I'm stumped. I'm thinking some kind of slag, but there's a lot going on in your stone.

Sure has a lot going on if not slag, strange that you found a pile of it, what part of NC were you in and were you in woods or anything else you could share to help help us.
