Need Help With Mexican or Native American Pottery Piece

Another local thrift store find that I can't decipher the signature. I bought it because I thought it was cool, it was cheap ($1.97), & it has $120 in pencil on the bottom. Of course if it's Mexican & that's pesos it doesn't mean a whole lot. I thought it might be "Evelyn Gutierrez" but haven't found anything online. Either I'm off on the signature or the artist is obscure. What do y'all think?

I think it might be Evelyn Johnson.
