I came across this on Google Earth, it looks like an Astrobleme or an old caldera, however, I cannot find anything about what it is on line.
it is located south of Denver Colorado.

Maybe a dried up lakebed? A lot of erosion surrounding it, Definitely interesting.

There are numerous volcanic features and now dry lakebeds in Colorado. Boots on the ground should help a bit.

Haven't heard about that one. That would be a thing if you ever get up there, talk to the locals and they can clue you in.
