It was only a matter of time before a new reality show featuring metal detecting hit the air. The premise for this show is that our anti hero, Dugless is a normal elderly old man trying to balance his job, injuries and honey dew lists. While at work one day he is bitten on the ankle by a pink bunny. Immediately Dugless is morphed into an undead which is the premise of the show and this pilot in production. Unlike the other dead bouys hanging around Dugless does not crave brains. Purgatory is his new reality! He is unaware of the changes till one day at work he takes a face plant banging his head on a building at pier 22 causing his brain to end up in his....well end. The side affects were starting to show. Next day at his other detail his supervisor asks him why he didn't have his cover on to which our hero states that he is recharging his solar panel on the top of his head. The supervisor scratches his and drives off.

As the days progress the virus takes further affect with Dugless asking his wife; no begging her for honey dew lists while at work he volunteers for everything and has an uncontrollable swinging of his right arm in an arc. A week later he looses the ability to speak other then two words.."Yes deaarrrrrrrrrrr." The horror! The horror! While this pleases the wife it creates doubt in the minds of Dugless's coworkers who avoid him like the Black Death that plagued London in the last century.

As the pilot continues our hero develops other uncharacteristic traits caused by the bite. His swinging of Zen Guru (AT Pro International) became erratic. He was not a fast swinger nor a slow swinger but was now a "halffast swinger." He walked so much that he wore his legs down and now had to bum around. The first dig after the bite was a park where he found a piece of the puzzle but could not place it.(P1) An off and on knob which was in an iron ring had him moving around in circles.(p2) As the dig continued Dugless shook his leg...it fell off. Thank goodness that he had chicken wire in his pocket to reattach his limb. A passerby asked if he could lend a hand catching his dog...he did and the dog fetched it much to the delight of the owner who put a leash on his beast.

Poor Dugless. His quest for quota ended when his knees locked and he did not have the key or the WD40 to remedy the problem.

So goes the pilot. Hope you enjoyed this preview of the new series which is a cross over from the BBC "The Detectorist and ABC's "Walking Dead."

In episode 2 of "The Walking Dead Detectorists" Dugless faces new challenges as his face falls off while his digging buddy Navy Davy finds the road to Sanctuary!
