Hey Papajoe!! Read your instruction manuel then read it again, after you think you know what your doing take your unit out and beep around, when you think you know what your doing, read the manual again and watch the instruction video on Garrett.com!! You will get the hang of it!! Great little unit and you will enjoy many days in the field with it!! GOOD LUCK and GOOD HUNTING!! By the way, your very close to Jean Lafitte's treasures!! VERDE!!
