I found this at a church dating back to the 1700. I have no clue to what it is or to what it goes to?

Looks like either a clock pendulum weight or a scale weight.

Is that an eye that something hooks through? ? It looks brass. Maybe a counterweight that hangs on a swing arm as in a pendulum type clock. Yep, that's my story and I'm sticking to it. lol
