So I went to dump 20 in halves I had laying around and at the counter I see silver halves in the tray I said can I have them she says yeah but not the silver one I say never mind how about those five dimes she says they are mine too. Silver. I think it should be illegal to have silver sitting in the tray show it to me then say I can't have it. So I'm mad and want to find silver now. I buy a box of nickels. I never do nickels. I pull a 36 and a 37 Indian. Lots of 39,40's none war and 50's in this box. Threw them all back not interested. So I go to another dump location dump go to the counter what do I see 6 silver halves staring me in the face. Here we go again. Can I have those halves. Why sure. What really ok. 69,68x2,67x2,64. Picked up another nickel box got a 28 Indian and 3x2005s. So made me feel better about missing out on 1 half and 5 dimes. image.jpg

They are indeed proof strikes. Your first picture wasn't clear enough. Your second does indeed show a proof strike. They are impaired so I'm not sure what value they hold, but they only cost you face to keep.

Yeah we'll to top off the day I ended the day off with 10 dollars more then I started with so everything I got for the day is free

Lol some people don't get sarcasm, nothing you can do

If you have ever read anything I have written here you will realize I am sarcasm personified. If it was indeed sarcasm then my apologies. However, which part of the post was intended to be a joke?

This part? "Go to the bank that refused to sell you coin and talk to the manager."
Or this part? "Make up some phones baloney story and say you are a teacher trying to teach kids about American coins or something. Tell them you will "return" them after a lesson ;-)"

Or all of it? It isn't always easy to pick up sarcasm on an internet chatboard - especially when/if part of the same paragraph is written sincerely.

Not sure you'd have to ask the writer. He says it's a joke I'm taking it as face value. Don't have the time in my day to look deeper into internet form posts

It's not a forum violation to suggest someone to lie to a teller... Plus he is not stealing the silver I'm sure they would make him pay fv for them

Yes, especially since it was said tongue-in-cheek. It absolutely came across how Wicka intended it to come across, except for in your case. Drop it.

Yes sir I did. I have 4 more boxes to do tomorrow

When I went to Aruba last year I picked some coins up for my foreign coin collection. Aren't they great? They're currency is even more exotic.
HH.
Hope your next boxes are solid v nickels.

Mastermind I already apologized if I misread his original post. The follow up "its not a violation of forum rules to tell a member to lie to a teller" is a seperate matter, and a misguided at best response. Lying is never ok unless your pregnant wife asks "do I look fat." Im not going to drop something because you tell me to - especially when you respond to something that was basically over anyways.

Cool to find those buffalos, especially the dated coins. Of all the nickels I've searched, which isn't much, never a buff for me. Matter of fact, I have set free the dateless buffs I had. Wonder how the nice ones end up in circ?
