I did some CWRs of nicks this week, and pulled an interesting coin out of a roll. It's a 1945 Portuguese 2 1/2 Escudos coin. i thought it had a silver look to it, so i looked it up and sure enough, it's 0.650 fine! It a little smaller than a nickel, and contains just a hair more silver than a 90% dime (0.0731 oz). I'll take it over a war nick any day! This is only my second foreign silver from CRHing (other: a 1967 Canadian 50% fish dime). It's a cool-lookin little gem, with a ship on one side & shield on the other.
HH All!

Neat coin! I have the 1932, but not from CRH. It is only worth melt, maybe you could go a bit over sometimes.

That is nice, i'd take that over a war nickel any day even if it contained less silver than a war nickel (which it doesn't)

Wow! Sweet find. I love the old look of it. Design looks older than 1945
