Finally returned to Field 1 & the surface was nice & dry after the recent wind. We decided to grid a slightly different area because the previous grid was running dry. However, this area just proved we need to move off this field, as there is not enough signs to stick it out.
The usual 2.5hrs for Cru'dad who got the hammered today & 3 hours for me.

Nice finds still for the time spent.
Is that a silver chain bar under the cap badge?

Yeap, the type that went on a fob watch chain.
Can you make out and of the marker's marks for a date?
Over here it would rank as a real sweet recovery at least from my permissions.
(I realize it's probably many 100's of yrs too new you you)

Sadly I looked for the date letter but its too rubbed. I would place it at just over 100 years old. It's good enough to avoid the scrap silver bag & go into the pile of silver bit section.

Nothing is ''too new'' if it is interesting, a first, or something with a story or History. It's just there are other fields we can do that are more productive, & we need to spend our time wisely before they Spring Drill.
