Hello to all. I scored this omega Constellation with box, manual, warrantee card, and the 10kt ring at one sale, and the Sterling at another. Regarding the Sterling, it indicates "weighted reinforced". I knew that once I read those words that it was not looking good. 😊 Do they still have value as scrap? Not planning on keeping them. They weigh about 1.3 kilos, or about 2 pounds. Thanks to all for your feedback. I appreciate it. 20210501_152843.jpg 20210501_152849.jpg 20210501_152856.jpg 20210501_152859.jpg 20210501_152915.jpg 20210501_153055.jpg 20210501_153100.jpg

Nice score...my guess is each candle holder has about $25 in silver.

Just be sure to use gloves and wear glasses when scraping...the metal is super thin and razor sharp.

Hit one with a hammer one time and it jumped up and cut my face.

I used to always help a friend that has a refinery break these things apart on days I had nothing to do. I had a blood clot randomly and had to go on blood thinners. Cut myself just a tiny little bit with one of them... he thought I was going to die! It kind a looked like I was going to..

I can break these things apart. The knives really suck.

For Sterling weighted candlesticks you can usually figure the Sterling weight is roughly 10% of the actual weight of the object. Sometimes you find one with a bit thicker silver shell and it end up closer to 15-20% but I use 10% as my guide when deciding whether to buy one or not

This is my most recent tear down. Most did average 10% sterling and 90% krap. A lot of fun buying but a chore tearing down. But I still enjoyed the teardown.

The 2nd photo is my main business brochure. When ever I get any of these I get to tear them down. My recent haul (all free) is two very large old fashioned TVs and three flat screens.
