A lot of swinging the detector today over an often and hard hit school field here in town produced only 2 coins but luckily one of them was silver. Found a 1961 Lincoln Cent and a 1943 Washington Quarter.
Nice on the Quarter.
It is weird, when you think a site is hunted out but it still produces.
I know this from my personal experience because when I get lazy and don't feel like driving anywhere but get the itch to detect I hit my front yard.
I have pounded my front yard to death over the past 3 years but every time I hit it again, I still find coins.
I'm not sure exactly why this happens, maybe the soil shifted or heaved due to frost in the winter or I'm just getting better with my detector.
Just when I think it's hunted out, a week latter I will find a coin that in no way I should have missed before.
