The only problem is....If you research where the gold has been found...so can everyone else. So...then you do a lot of looking, sampling...takes time. Here on the Oregon coast we have literally hundreds of creeks. Within 30 mile of my house there is 4 rivers...some famous for salmon and Steelhead. Some are called "creeks" 20 foot wide? that's a river in some places.
As you drive down highway 101...in certain areas...there is a creek every mile. There ain't enough time bro!!

Jeff this is a short read with good info, and some really cool old photos.

Oregon Mines

Great pictures, Vik!! That area reminds me of the time back in 1965 when I went to Baker with my buddy and stayed at his Dad's house for a couple of weeks. We all got drunk and drove up to the movie site for "Paint Your Wagon" with Clint Eastwood and Lee Marvin. I don't remember much about the movie site. I was so drunk I had to have somebody hold me up!! We raised hell around Baker for two weeks!! He had three older brothers and man could they party. I think the townsfolk was glad to see us go!!
