Nice pile of digs..Strange that looks like a sling buckle with an iron hook?
Is that buckle solid silver?
That small silver piece is from "Stag" utensils..

Thats Awesome!
It was really nice meeting you today. We had alot of fun.
I believe that buckle is a belt??
Hopefully someone will jump in on it.
That soild silver shoe buckle is killer!
We will have to get back to that site soon. I know there's a great button waiting for us.
A nice USA!
It was a 4 day camp for the Continental Army.
I know that shoe was a officers!
Or maybe wishful thinking..
Great hunt guy.

Were the "silver thing" and the bottle in close proximity of each other ?

If so they may be an "item".

Solid silver is extremely rare and most likely was an Officer's buckle like Vino said..:headbang:

That small silver piece is most likelt stag handle decor where the bone met the metal..

You had a great day, Tracy! Those buckles are amazing, but how did you beat Vino to them? :)

You guys need to hit this place hard - no doubt some more good relics are hiding in there.

I saw a little preview of these and was blown away. That is a very special site and as Georgie said there's going to be a couple of very special buttons in there. Dig those low numbers fellas. That solid silver frame is something I am dying to find but likely never will. I have dug 17 or 18 shoe buckles and never even a fragment of a silver one. In fact I don't remember seeing a silver shoe buckle frame posted. I may have to vote Banner on this hunt. Those are truly a couple of special finds but to see something I've never seen posted in a couple years is pretty incredible. I've probably seen 20 GW buttons and a pile of Rev War buttons. Yup Banner from me.

Man that silver buckle is both huge and incredible, and I can't believe George left that in the ground for you :laughing7:. Colonial silver buckles of any kind are extremely rare to dig, and I only have maybe 2 or 3 small fragments from them out of hundreds of buckles dug over the years. And that sling buckle and spoon are no slouches either. Great hunt man!

What a fun day diggin with a few friends out in the woods. A silver shoe buckle, continental army sling buckle, pewter spoon, 3 pewter musket balls, a silver "thing", 1919 dog tag, and a tiny bottle was the finds. We all had a fun time digging together. Vino....those green trees are the ticket!!!!

Any markings on the underside of the silver buckle? My silver knee buckle I dug had a lion on one side and makers initials on the other side underneath.
