I just found this 1970 S while searching a roll. It looks somewhere between EF40 and BU. It looks to me to be a "small date, high 7" but I have difficulty distinguishing between that and the "large date, low 7 " variety. As there is a big difference in value between the two varieties, does anyone have any "expert" opinions on which it is, and how to tell the difference between the two

I am by no means an expert but if you will read my post I have posted a picture of one I found. If you post a picture I will try and see if I can tell. I have been searching pennies for quite a while and thought I had found several that wasn't. I will say this when you see one compared to another it is very obvious. The best way is to look at the tail of the 9 and see which way it is pointing if towards the S it is a large date. If the tail of the 9 point towards the 7 it is a small date. The first two pictures are small dates and the last two large dates

Haven't found one myself. The 1960 small date is tough too. Only found 1.

I attached a picture in my first post. You have to click on "attachment....." at the bottom of the message to seeit. It works when I try it. If the picture does not come up when you click "attachment" please let me know and I will try to figure another way to leave a photo.
