Years ago my brother made some plum liquior that was the smoooooothest and had the best flavor...so we made some for our own consumption and cold nights...
Basically, we filled a gallon-size glass jar with a offset-wire bail locking lid (do not use a plastic container)
2 lbs Damson or Satsuma Plums (skinned, halved and pitted)
1 1/2 lbs Granular White Sugar
375 ml Vodka or Gin (We used Vodka...cheap stuff)
Combine ingredients place in a gallon jar as described above, and leave about about 2 inches of clearance...
Keep lid loose for fermentation purposes
Stir once a week (for 6 to 8 weeks) 'til sugar is dissolved
Will be ready in about 12 weeks
Remove plums and strain, then fill bottle to top with fresh Vodka and stir
You'll want to serve the plums over Vanilla Ice Cream...Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
PS Get a cold so you can really enjoy this Nector of Nature
