power on/sensitivity dial question.

I posted earlier on these two old Garretts. Both have power to the battery check..but after that one gets nothing. Is it a posibility it is not getting power past the 'on' dial? Both detectors have same dial and one does get power past the dial..as it hums and burys needle. The one that gets 'nothing' I could swap out the on/sensitivity dial with other if think that might be the source..or is their a fuse? I only want one of the two working. The coinhunter VLF or the 2D wide span- both circit boards look good. one shows bit of dry stain from something..not bad though

not sure..but I only recall seeing a 'coil' looking thing in the VLF one? I'll have to take them apart again. Should both have a coil? Thanks!
