This has been a pretty rough CRHing week, but all in all I cant complain too much, I have had some nice scores in the past. I have shifted strategies somewhat, due to the total drop off in box finds. I have been hitting CWRs and, when I can get them, coin counter bags.

Total: 1.90 OZT

Bags from coin counters:

Halves-

$68- 54, 67
$109- 67x2, 69

Quarters-

$440- Skunk (Bag was $100 light)

Dimes-

$280- 62

CWRs

Dimes- 62
Halves- 64

Boxes:

1) Skunk
2) Skunk
3) Skunk
4) Skunk
5) Skunk
6) Skunk
7) Skunk
8 )Skunk
9) Skunk
10) 67x2, 69
11) Skunk (solid box of 2001)
12) Skunk (solid box of 2001)

HH!

Adopt, adapt, improve. Decent enough finds,,, Not sure which is worse, the 2 solid 2001 half boxes or the quarters bag that's $100.00 short...

Lame Owl... Out..!

I was honestly more disappointed with the two solid boxes of 2001s, lol.

Could try and sell the 2001's to make your hundred back! Bummer deal though. I'm having a rough go of hunting lately myself, mostly time constraints. Better luck next week!

Ouch, I had 2 boxes last week that were solid 2001's and 2008's mixed, 1 box had a few ( maybe 20) older coins in it, that was a first for me. When you flip the lid open and see all those shiny new enders lookin back at you it's pretty disapointing. Better luck next week hopefully. HH, Maverick.

What's up with that? Could it be a regional thing for us? I had 2 boxes today also that were almost solid 2001, and as usual for the past two months, NO SILVER.

Could be, would be interesting to hear if bigheed is experiencing the same. I am certain you and I draw from different vaults though, and I have never seen any of your painted halves (knock on wood).

2001 were still made for circulation, could it be that the Fed branch in San Francisco is releasing their 2001 halves from their vault to satisfy our demand of halves?

No silver for two months? What is your skunk streak like?

if they have any stored it would be one of the last few years they made them for circulation considering those were the least actually used

I paused a segment of the twilight zone last night when someone tossed a coin in a bin as payment so I could see what the coins were. all silver of course, but interestingly a ben and a walker. you don't see halves as normal payment these days

I'm sure it will turn around soon and like you said you have had some nice finds. Is there a reason you don't do dime boxs? Ive never really heard of anyone hitting long skunk streaks in dime boxs...I'm sure you mentioned it somewhere but anyways...

Shutter at the thought.........
