Pulled this dime from the Publix Coinversion machine. It has so many things wrong with it. 1. The worn areas look like they are worn because they stood out from the usual surfaces. 2. What looks like a gouge through Roosevelt's ear doesn't appear to go through the top of his ear like the rest of his head. 3. The reverse has a big dimple just right of the torch, but the impression of the plant looks untouched in the bottom and around the edges of that depression. 4. The first thing that caught my eye, the hollowed rim. Severe on the two opposite sides where the outside layers are crimped in, and more slightly hollowed about halfway around one side. The whole surface is roughly textured.
Not a coin collector, more of a coin scavenger, I have no expertise, and extremely little experience with error coins. So I'm putting up for observations and opinions from more knowledgeable. I thank you in advance for your opinions.
