Not sure this will be of any use to anyone, but I thought someone might get a kick out of it.

I wanted to hunt some waist deep water, but wanted to make sure I didn't accidentally dunk the control box. So, I combined my straight and S shaft to get the coil and controls as far apart as the cable would allow. That gave me a total length of 5'6". Then part of a pool noodle and an old school lifejacket to keep the control box above water even if I let go of it. It is not the prettiest, but it worked!!
