Hello,

I was referred here from the "what is it" section of the forum. I need some help figuring something out.

I found a rock that has some smaller black rocks inside it. The rock would NOT break when I hit it with a hammer. However, the black rock sticking out did break off.

After that, I decided to have a laugh and pull out one of my powerful magnets. To my surprise, the black rock stuck to it. It's attracted to the magnet.

Here are some pictures with more on the way

Any idea what this rock is?

Extremely hard to tell using your photo. Looks like conglomerate rock to me with basalt. Better pictures?
