I only found 2 matching pieces during my digging days of a 5 inch Newnan. The base came 1st and a few minutes later the tip. I didn't notice at the time; a friend that was with me noticed when he was going through my material pile. If I still had it I would have posted a picture.

I’ve found maybe 4 now over the years. Always pays to save the tips and bases.

A friend of mine found a base to an Adena point. A few years later walking the same field he found the tip. They fit together perfectly.

These 2 were actually creek finds but I do have one I found in a field. When the disc hits them I believe the pieces go in different directions.

I don’t see anymore but it’s a tough ask from pictures, I’ve only found 1 I can think of found a month apart or more. Hope you don’t mind the continued diverting of your post

Sometimes the material will be a different color when you find it. I match color plus flaking

The broken one on the left I found the tip in the same area but on a different bar. It’s called a Wheeler which is Paleo

I've been attempting to match pieces for over 55 years and it never happened...until last year when it happened 3 times!
Found these two Eastgate tips the same day.

When I got home and poured through my 'parts' bins, viola!

I found the base of this Elko Earred almost tens years before!

Those match perfectly, congratulations
What did you glue them together with?
I found 2 halves of a Adze and glued them with a glue that never dried clear the others
(3) I haven’t glued.
