An early day coal mining town north of Thompson Springs from about 1910-55, but after about 1915 it was pretty much all downhill. They had problems with the water table gettin too low to provide enough water to run the coal washer, but on the other hand flash floods would come through and wash out the railroad trestles or parts of the town. The bigger block building was the company store. (Where yes miners owed their souls, as at one time they were paid in scrip valid only there and threatened with being fired if they shopped in Thompson Springs where prices were half as much.)
