Yesterday I went to town and sold silver . Got $12 for silver dollars and 85 cents for silver dimes . Turned $85 into $520 . It might go up or it might not . Considering we inherited the lions share of it we have what could be considered "found money." It was just sitting in a strong box in the back of the closet where it would have sat for another 20 years . Considering inflation and the rule of 72's this was probably the right move . Not that we needed it but now it's liquid . My wife can squeeze a penny until Lincoln can't breathe so it will not be wasted . I was thinking either tour Europe or fill the gas tank of my F-150 . What to do , what to do .

sorry but sounds like you were taken advantage of, big time

How much do you think I should have gotten ?

You probably got what it was worth at the time.
I Don't Know what a Dollar was Worth 1st.

Now it is worth $15.5927 so you should get at least $15 today.

dimes are $1.4583 so $1.35 would be Fair.

Actually we might have gotten more BUT with the price of gas and the distance we would have had to travel , time etc. we're satisfied . We live in rural AZ so these are considerations .

I would not exchage silver or gold for fiat money at this time.

I believe that the times ahead will not be easy.

i also believe that the dollar is losing value.

Some countries are dumping the dollar.

It is not the time to sell unless you need the money to do something with it.

That is my opinion.
