Just got back from a morning metal detection on my WWII property and it was quite the adrenaline rush!

I started off finding tons of aluminum foil. This soon turned into a good thing. I got a hit that brought up 3 peices of metal. It took me a second to put it together but it was a knife! I assume it’s a kitchen knife but After examining it, the blade is way more stiff than your average steak knife, allowing no flex. After a few more hits I found a 1941 Wheat penny. I also located three buttons in the area and three blank rounds from 1941. One of the blank rounds was unfired. The 13 Star buttons were in excellent shape, I have yet to clean them but they still have that nice silver shine.

Since I was detecting on my property I carried my hound with me as usual. The old fellow barked for 15 minutes before I finally decided to see what Game he had treed. It turns out my dog had a Rattler bayed against a stump! I raced to the truck for my 20 gauge that I usually leave under the seat this time of year. When I returned he still had him cornered, so I fired away. He measured 5ft with the tape and took up the length of my tailgate! I’m very fortunate to still have my dog and to remove the snake from my property. This is his 5th snake.. he’s quite the handyman :tongue3:

Yeah agreed, that dog is irreplaceable. I must say I’m pretty excited... my friend who’s an expert craftsman with leather and animal skins; has agreed to make me a Snakeskin Wallet. so now I have a giant rattlesnake in my freezer until tomorrow. Hope no one goes after a late-night snack tonight!

Hope you at least cut his head off and buried it. Still dangerous even after its dead
