Southern Nevada Newbie looking for Au

I would really like to get into gold prospecting for this winter around Southern Nevada. I don't have any equipment, but I will. If there's anyone in my area that goes out looking and could show me the ropes that would be awesome. Any help would be appreciated. I'd much rather be out in the middle of the desert with a in my hand than my hands on a steering wheel. Thanks and hope to be out there soon.

Within four hours of Las Vegas there are several clubs in southern Nevada, northwest Arizona, and the bordering area of California. They can be a big help in finding specific sites that may be appropriate for your needs. I also suggest stopping by the prospecting shops in the Las Vegas area.
