started into a new permission

Hey i started into a new 1800s permission. Looks virgin as I only dug for 2 hours and its full of signals. few wheaties, lamp parts, clock key. Could the item that looks like a fire sprinkler head be an old gas lamp burner? the pipe that enters from the side is hollow and looks to be about the size used on them.

I Dont think so, but its possible. Seems more gas related but ill look into it.
