Repost : I found this little guy in a parking lot in Austin Texas. its completely clear besides an inclusions in it, and at many angles you can see rainbow colors. Also looking at it from the top down it has 4 corners..when you put a light under it is super illuminated

Texas has AMBER—a rich brown to yellowish has been found near Eagle Pass in Creta ceous coal, and in Terlingua Creek in Brewster County.

How can you tell if a rock is amber?

All you have to do is mix two cups of warm water with a quarter cup of salt in a bowl, then stir the mixture until the salt has completely dissolved. Once you have done this, place the piece of amber in the solution. If the piece of amber floats then it is indeed authentic amber.

My thought is that it is like a Lake county California Diamond. They come from a volcanic area Maybe there is somewhere close by you that has Geo thermal areas?
