Detector(s) used
Tesoro Vaquero, Fisher F75LTD
Primary Interest:
Metal Detecting
As you know I am 2 months into my Detectorist stint.

We hit the front yard of a 1920's house and the curb/sidewalk strip.
4 hours and the haul as you can see was:

Sunday Finds Boot Heel.jpgSunday Finds Boot Heel.jpg

Clad: 35 memorial pennies, 17 dimes, 9 quarters or $4.30

Wheat penny: ONE only, run of the mill haven't checked the date yet specimen
Mercury Dime: ONE sweet AU 1943 specimen (silver #26)

Steel boot heel, pretty darn cool, never saw one before

ONE yellow marble, the second hunt in a row I dug a coincidental marble (that's just a copper pipe cutoff)
ONE,100 franc coin from the West African States 1997 (weird what you find)

Nice haul. Part of the fun of the hobby is the wide, and sometimes strange assortment of things you find. With 26 silver in two months, you are off to a fine start.

Stint?! I don't think so. I believe you'll be hooked for a lifetime! Lol

Great digs man and God bless a lady that likes digging. Many wives couldn't care less. Congrats

I should tell you she helps me gut and butcher the deer too!!! She's purdy to boot and a math nerd...

The heel plate is awesome, would love to pull one...
And the West African States coin...totally random! Congrats on the silver too.

Nice haul! Can't wait to persuade my wife to go with me. Hope you have a detecting partner for life!

Looks like ya'll had a great hunt. Clad adds up and is handy for upgrades.

It is about 1/16 inch thick, FLAT on top, and as you would expect rounded on the bottom.
Notice the chamfer or tapered holes for the screws? I can only assume it is a BOOT HEEL.

Cool steel. Thanks!

The African coin features a sawfish on the front!
What a strange fish.... Sawfish Coin 100 francs.jpg A Google image is better than my dumb cell phone.

True True

I dig a clad dime or quarter I think, "Battery money..." You are right. Maybe I should get an AT PRO?

I am having fun figuring out the Vaq. I would like a multi tone machine. I like the Vaquero.... What do I know?

My 1st detector was an El Cheapo, but had 3 tones. I swing the F75 and normally hunt in 4 tone mode. Nickels ring in as silvers. Now in a field hunting, one or 2 tones is perfect.

Looks like a busy four hours well spent!
