I've been to two sites the last two days that produced some large coppers in the last week. :)

One is a tiny spot restricted due to the crop conditions in the rest of the field where I dug a large cent last time around. When I returned for the farmer had completed a deep plow.... Which is great for turning up deep relics to the surface but also hard walking and not good for getting the coil close to the dirt! But I'm not complaining! This hunt turned up a few flat buttons and also the strainer like thing??

The second hunt was back to the site where last week 6 large coppers appeared. The grass was even higher this time... Some of it knee high so I wasn't expecting much. This hunt had a more more normal ratio of buttons to coins. The GS eagle button was a bit of a surprise as its a bit newer than everything else found at the site so far. It's strange to see one in good condition as the ones I find in Virginia are usually corroded to the point of almost being unidentifiable at times.

The KG II was a bit of a surprise, as it sounded lower than normal on the CTX 3030, suggesting perhaps it's a counterfeit? I'll take it- copper #8 for the year. :)

Thanks for looking!

EDIT- I'm not sure if the Picts came through in the body of the post, so I changed them to attachments.

Great finds again! Congrats. What did the KG ring up as on the CTX? Ive had KG's rig up as low as 12-40.

Congrats on making a section of the planted field work!

Thanks guys!

Scrappy- this KG II rang in at a 12-26, which makes me think the copper content is a bit low in it.... :)

I agree it's probably a cast counterfeit. Cast ctft beats genuine, but struck ctft beats em both! :)
