The claw appears to me to be part of a broken hook off of a logging type chain.

Agreed. Something to do with logging. My grandfather had several tools with that similar end. One was called a cantdog. It was a bit different but same idea. Lots of the old claw looking things we find were made to grip a log

Mawkus, Your claw thing is perfectly camo-ed for your counter top, be careful you might lose it. I would have to guess, but I'd agree with Keith. I'm thinking its a hunk of lead for something else. The claw thing looks like it is not metal and like its a tooth. I'm sure it is a logging thing like Abe suggested.

Can anyone shed some light on what the claw/tooth-looking thing is? Also, any information on the bullet would be helpful too!
The bullet looks like a Wad Cutter. I have not seen one for quite some time but hey were very popular with hand loaders due to the low cost. Many police departments used them on their practice ranges. Cool stuff!

Logging hook isn't exactly what I was hoping for, but thanks for the response. The "wad" of lead is definitely a bullet. It has a hole in the base and rings around it that are somewhat masked by the barrel scrapings. I'm assuming it's modern. Thanks guys.

Hello MawkusD. Definitely modern but for a revolver. Hard to tell by your picture but I suspect .38 Special. "Wad Cutter" refers to the manner in which these style of bullets cut a hole or "wad" of paper in a target as it passed through.

Yesterday, I found the biggest 3 ringer I have ever seen. This thing was like twice the size of the regular three ringers. I'm not at home, so I can't post a picture m, but anyone have any idea of what a big three ringer is?
