Fishing in water like that sure doesn’t seem enjoyable to me. Are they fishing for sport or food? Any idea what they are after?

My guess would be King Salmon, or possibly Coho.
They're in decent water so long as they stay away from that bar.

When I lived in Alaska we called it combat fishing. There is nothing better tasting than a fresh filet of salmon cooked on the grill.
