I had the pleasure of hunting with TNetter, Todd Lipe, this weekend. He had one of his secret honey holes lined up. However... upon arrival, I immediately noticed sloppy plugs, then plain old holes, where an uninvited guest had not even bothered to put the dirt back in the holes. We were both disappointed, to say the least.

The disappointment faded as my first hole contained a '43 Merc! From the looks of things the other guy (or girl... probably a girl, we will call her "Nancy") was unable to locate any of the deeper targets. All of the good targets were 6" deep at least. The next good target was an old green three cent spill... 1916, 1918 and 1897! Woo Whoo IHC!

I got another deep signal, about 7" down a large green coin appeared, it turned out to be a 1908 Canadian cent! We do not see (m)any of those around here.

I managed to wrestle two buffalos from the ground, both dated.. 1919 and 1935.

I also found the remains of a charm bracelet and some other junk... broken key, thimbles and junk ring.

It was a very nice weekend, and I owe Todd big time!

Thanks for looking, and good luck on your hunts!

Lucky you to be out detecting today! I wish I could detect for a living... and go to work for fun. Lol.

Very nice Canadian coin. Last month I found a 1916 Canadian Quarter, and I thought for sure I had found some kind of Colonial coin due to the figurehead on the front... always fun finding a coin that you've never seen anything like!

Great finds Tom! Congrats!
We can all only hope the people leaving holes will fall in them!

I keep telling the people who make treasure hunting shows that they need to post a pre show "how to" instructional video
for the newbies and others that don't know how to retrieve a target the correct way.

Now that's the way to prepare for the trip. Chris and I found Nancy's work way up here the other day too. She sure gets around.

Looks like you did really well, despite the site being chewed up by "Nancy". I like the 1908 Edward...I live in Canada and haven't found an Edward largie haha.

Nice finds Tom, now that you're warmed up on the 1800's coins you're ready for Philly!
