there are many types of Tags .
a piece or strip for attaching by one end,
Nailing or Riveting Fast, Pasting fast to something as a mark or label, or a price tag.
a license plate for a motor vehicle. to name a few.
Can you be more Specific
as to Where you read or heard the Word Tag that you are asking what one is ?
there may be new fangled meanings kids are inventing these days too
for things that are online or on their Phones
or that they do to windows , walls, Buildings or people
