WHAT IS THIS ?! Could be Old!

Hunted the woods behind an older house yesterday (late 1800's or early 1900's). There is an 1870s cemetery on the other side of the woods. All of these pieces were in the same hole. I believe it is bronze and is marked "solid" on the one side. It rang up a mid tone. Maybe a casket handle or a horse bit Please help!
