York Half Groat

These are today's finds. A 17th century nipple button, half of a copper Roman coin, a late medieval jeton, a very small medieval pyramid shaped lead weight, a broken Roman brooch and a grotty Scottish copper coin probably 17th century. Hammered silver coin wise, a nice groat of Edward III. fourth coinage 1351-77. The mint is nice and clear in the inner circle on the obverse. It say's EBO RACI, from the Roman name for York, which was EBORACUM. Robert.

Great finds. Oddly enough, I found a small button yesterday (don't have a pic to post right now), but it was shaped like your "nipple button". I had never seen one before, and actually thought to myself, "that looks like a nipple". So, thanks for the post and confirmation that I was thinking in the right direction. I will try to post a pick later.

Hello Scuba, sadly although it looks great, and is around 700 years old . It's about as rare as a skinny marathon runner. Robert.
