In my previous post, I noted the fact I was on a Civil War battlefield (on private property with permission, of course) and needed some help ID'ing a few things. Below are the items. In the first two images, the piece on the left is similar to a piece I found last year, which I believe was part of a spur. I'm not sure about this one. Then there's the piece at the bottom. Looks like it is a part to something - a gun or musket maybe? And the piece on the right - again, part of a spur or perhaps trigger guard? No idea. The piece at the top is iron, obviously and could be farm machinery related. Then the group of small pieces appears to be melted brass. I've found lots of that on this site - all of this in an area of concentrated combat, including some hand to hand. Thanks in advance for any help.

The bottomost picture looks like some camp lead or some campfire brass. The brass in the top pic looks like a scabbard tip.

Not sure of either Richard but glad you got to hunt the site. HH, Q.

I think its a hacked up chunk of a spoon or something....near the top of the handle...

What, exactly, was campfire brass? I know about campfire lead, but brass . . . ???

well...it was probably plated...and perhaps its not brass but low-grade copper....

Possible, but after looking through some reference books, I'm still leaning toward a spur for the piece on the left.
