Great find . Probably EF. Whatever he does tell him not to spend a cent on having it graded and slabbed; it would be a complete waste of money!

Great example of an RR-2. Fantastic detail on a real nice planchet. NICE FIND!!!

Beautiful example of a beautiful design. Obviously genuine. Keep a record with the coin of date and location where dug just for provenance.

Very Nice!!! Congrats!!!

AMAZING FIND!!!

Fantastic Colonial...…...

Awesome piece of history, what a amazing save, congrats to you friend

awesome find in great condition

I can tell you for CERTAIN this coin is NO LESS than AU, and would probably grade to MS. The coin in my avatar was in a Stacks auction years ago. Classified as Mint State (MS). A number of C-4 members examined it at the Bay State coin show.....along with Tony Carlotto. If it wasn't a "ground found" copper, and was in a collection, it would have been one of the finest known Landscape Vermonts, with a value of about $30-$35,000. (Not my opinion....but of C-4 members). I sold it for $1275.00. Grading is a WASTE of time and $. Yours would have a qualifier of "corrosion", and or, "environmental Damage". You have to use the peroxide bath and seal it with vaseline or bees wax. THEN......REPOST!!! Probably make Banner. Let the games begin............
