I decided to try coin roll hunting again and went through a 25 dollar box of pennies I bought yesterday.

9 wheat pennies, three of which were near mint and the earliest being 1927
3 bicentennial 2009 lincoln
2 nice-looking 2010 pennies
3 zinc 1982 pennies

I don't understand how anyone can go wrong here. For example if I spend $5,000 on rolls of 1/2 dollars, and find nothing great, can't I just convert them back to paper dollars? In other words, how can anyone lose a cent? Thanks guys!
I haven't checked it out firsthand yet, but the Coinstar website says that there is no charge for exchanging coins for dollars if you receive a gift card instead of cash. Does this make "dumping" searched coin rolls easier, or am I missing something?
