Found this in area that dates from 1860s-1930s Looked like a double sided bullet shell.. Is it some kind of container of some sort? Thanks!

Todays better finds here in Southern Cali. the area dates to 1800s-1930s.. Can anyone tell what the two marks on the ring are? Something fell off perhaps, a stone? Also, what kind of metal is the ring likely to be? & For the key. My guess would be for a jewelery box or something like that...

Found this bullet today here in Southern California.. Can somebody tell me more about it? was it fired, what kind of gun, etc? Shown in the last picture are other bullets found in same location.. Thanks for any input.
