Spent the morning at a city park, got a handful of clad and one lone rosie so i decided to head on home.On the way I spotted a farmer that I had been trying to catch so I could gain permission to detect a house he owned. I had found the house on an 1859 plat map and had waited for my opportunity to ask permission and today I finally got it! I began be gridding off the yard and taking my time and do a good job of covering this sweet looking spot. I found several newer clad coins but nothing old, then I got a good deep signal and pulled this 1911 dog license. After another hour of hard searching I was making my last pass and got my ears blown off by this $10.00 Token. The front has only the $10.00 logo on it , The obverse says Indianapolis & Eastern Railway Company around the border and the middle says "This Medallion is good for ten dollars in Gold if presented at the office of the Indianapolis News properly identified on or before Nov. 1st 1904" I wrote this out incase the pics were not good enough for everyone to read. A very fun day even if i did'nt get alot of old coins lol

When is gold NOT gold? Only when you miss the cut off date.

Still nice finds. Really like the old dog tag.

Does this count as a gold coin?
