02/13/09 - Back at the bottle dump. lots of pix *Video added*

Today was too nice of a day to stay inside. I started at 8am and hunted till noon. All of these finds were just lying on top of the ground or just partially buried. I walked around the whole site, it is huge, like atleast the size of a city block!!! I bet there is a lot of older stuff, I can't wait to start diggin!!! Here is what I found. LOL - I had over 25 min of video that I had to widdle down to fit on youtube so that is always a pain. here is my finds.

Nice I've only found one good bottle from the mid 1800's nothing on the bottle.

I would bet you have a gold mine there.
Many of those are probably worth selling. I don't know for sure, but I have friends that may.

Very cool bottles TF, I saw the other video you posted about the bottles, I'm not sure if it was from the same dump.

Awsome!!! Are you goig to use a smaller coil ? when you start digging around?

Great site. Pick a small spot and dig carefully. I have heard the deeper you go, the older the bottles.

thanks for the new video, and new pics!! what is the reason for these bottle dumps, i see alot of posts here about them?? and how do you check value,etc of the bottles you find, seemns like your more happy when you find colored glass? reason? sorry for the questions just seems very interesting..gregg

Warning! Take a very good and updated First Aid kit with you, and don't leave it in your vehicle! Nice city dump, nice bottles. I don't care how careful you are, with that much glass around there, you're bound to get cut. Buy some of those cut proof gloves, and gl on your next hunt........NGE

LOL - yea I have already cut my knee when I slipped on some ice and landed on a broken bottle last week. My buddy found that site and when he tried to pickup a bottle it shattered and he had to get stiches and it cut his tendon and he was wearing gloves...

Ohhh yeah...I have gotten many a cuts from ye ole bottle dump when I was a lad.We lived next to the town's old dump site.After school we would hit the back door runnnin' to jocky for a good spot to hunt!I had over 300 bottles from that old place and some very nice relics.
