I got 6 40% halves, and a fairly circulated 1981-S proof.
So far this year I am not finding a LOT of stuff, but every box so far has at least produced one keeper.
One of the halves I found in this box was similar to one I found a couple of weeks ago when I got a skunk box. I only found one 40% half in that one, because the edge looked like a standard clad half. But the date was 1968.
This box, it was a 1969....and no matter how you looked at it, it looked likd a clad half. The obverse and reverse looked slightly silvery.....but the edge was half copper and half silver. I used to check my rolls by tearing one open, scanning the edges for silver, then going through them one by one to look at the dates. Now I just open the rolls one after the other, and check the edges of all of them before I start sorting through them to look at the dates. In this case, I thought I had gotten all the silver halves by looking at the edges, but after searching through a buncha rolls looking at each coin's date individually, I picked up a half and was surprised to see it had a date of 1969 on it. I looked at the edge, and it looked like a normal clad coin. I could see how someone might miss it if they were only scanning for silver edges.
Oh well. Next box is day after tomorrow.
