I started metal detecting end of August 2005. I "mostly" hunt on the beach. But there is one spot that is special.
I discovered it in October and found like 12 Euro in 2 hours, with my XP GMaxx.
With my, then brand new, X-Terra 50, searched that spot again in November. Found again like 10-12 Euro.

Now I returned. I thought it wasn't necessary to go back earlier, since we had this long & cold winter.

I hunted for 1.20 hours with the X-Terra 50, again. Not only did I pick up 16.90 Euro (20.25 USD) but I also found AT LEAST 5 coins that must have been on this small spot the first time I hunted there.

CONCLUSION : the better you know your machine, the more you'll find.

Since you all like coins so much, I'll post a few pictures of them.

What did I find ?

1. 16.90 Euro = 20.25 USD
2. 20 + 20 + 5 + 0.50 Belgian Frank
3. an older coin. I don't think we have used it the last 40 years. 0.10 Belgian Frank (the coin with the hole in it)
4. a SCHILLING from Austria ((1979)

ThankYouForLooking !

Hahahaha, Mike. The detector is payed, I guess. But I KEEP on breaking cables, so I have to buy new ones over & over. They last like 3 weeks (normal ones for a MAZ) up to 5 weeks (the ones that came with my RAT). :-\

Bob...your coins rock, and so do the pictures. What kind of camera are you using?

HH, JIm

Hello JIm !

Like 2 years ago, I bought a Nikon D70 and for making pictures of my finds I mostly use the 105 lens. It really is a very good camera.

There is only one problem, now. For some reason some dust has got into the camera house (it is not in the lens, I have it with all my lenses). In the pictures you'll often see a little black spot.

So I informed how I could get rid of that but it seems to be quite expensive + I should be missing my camera for like 3 weeks...

How sad because otherwise, it is SUPER !

Thank you for your reaction, Jim. Alas, NO detecting for me, today, I do have (many) other things to do... :( :(

Nice finds Bob.

At this rate it won't take long to save up for your next detector.

maybe....
