1 from the coffee can

Here's a nice hardin from my dad's old coffee can. My guess is the damage is all impact fractures, not from modern farm machinery damage. The coffee can is cool, too.

I just got an education from you guys. It's clear I misunderstood what an impact fracture is. I searched impact fracture in the forum and now have a much better understanding of what it is. I think my mistakes came in thinking that since the 3 major areas of damage looked kinda smoothed over, and not crisp or freshly sliced from a disc, that they were automatically impact fracture. So am I correct in thinking that if a point blasts a bone or other hard object, it basically removes a flake?

The 2 notch looking places on each side near the base is where it was laying flat and the disc hit it. So it’s been hit at least twice. You’re lucky it wasn’t cut in half like so many I have found in fields. The tip probably was the last time it got hit and flipped it up so someone could find it before more damage was done.
