Hello. Found my first point 1 year ago. Wanted to post all my stuff I’ve been so fortunate to dig up and save from the dirt. Don’t have the time right now to do all that. Figured I’d at least post what I think is the finest point I’ve discovered to date. I’ve probably found older or whatever cooler type maybe. But this one is probably my favorite. The flaking is awesome workmanship, much detail, it’s thick in the middle, the little tan base tip. Translucent edges all around. Sitting outside drs appt waiting. Fun fun. Thanks enjoy. Don’t know type , etc.

Thanks for the look

Looks like it was resharpened several times. Must have been a good tool.

The large Base is a good tell on its previous size. You wouldn't really need a base that large on a smaller Point. That Point started out a lot bigger.

Ok gotcha. That would explain the seemingly long large base on this one. Thanks for explanation Grim. Love this stone

Excellent 1st find quinn, you'll always remember it.

Thanks Mike. It wasn’t the first, but one of the first couple. It’s just the finest, in my opinion, found maybe 2 or 3 others same couple of weeks. I remember all of them so far, but this is getting harder with each new find. Time to start documenting all.

A beautiful point, ..You might even say a special one, Oh yeah, you already did, Lol.

very nice point. Looks like harrison county flint.

Most of the points and blades we find have been re sharpened, some many times, and discarded. It's rare indeed to find a pristine unsharpened blade. This is one of the very few I've ever found. This is a 6 Inch Stillwell found in Fairfield Co. Ohio. It does have damage to the left barb edge and was broken in half. Most Stillwells that are found are sharpened to be much smaller than this one. Most of the beveled archaic points we find were beveled during the re sharpening process.
