Whoa! What started out as a decent box of nickels turned
towards the end. I had already found two wartime silver and when I opened the next to last roll I saw the reverse of what I thought was a foreign coin. Nope, it turned out to be a 1906 Liberty nickel! What are the chances of finding two 1906 coins in one year let alone a month?? It ties the Barber half as the oldest coin I've found so far this year. Here's the rap sheet:
1940D
1940S (2)
1941
1943S (silver)
1945D (silver)
1946D
1953
1954D
1955D
1956D
1957D (2)
1958D (2)
1959D (3)
Canadian: 1963, 1988
That's the first 45-D I've found this year and the 63 Canadian is the oldest I've ever found. Man these boxes are producing like gangbusters!
