I got out for an hour yesterday until mother nature decided to turn lake erie on her side. seriously I'm glad I decided to stay on the beach, it went from flat calm to 7'-10 foot waves in a matter of minutes. not much but a "garland" hand crank 3 lbs of sinkers and alot of nails, screws, and bolts. I also managed to gash my thumb pretty good on a very sharp piece of metal. I wiggled it until it came loose and went to pull it out. it came out about 1.5 inches and caught again.

I ended up having to call it a day and go to the car for a quick dressing until I could get home to clean and put neosporin on it. damn thing bled through 2 bandaids. I really am glad I keep a small first aid kit in the car as this would have been a mess if I had to wait to get help. I am sharing this with you guys because it cut right through my glove like nothing and I just want to prevent anything similar happening to you guys.

I know some of us go detecting to some remote areas and help is a good ways away. please take this warning as a possible wake up call and if you do pack a first aid kit bravo for you. you guys have been very good to me and I like to return the favor. a few kleenex and a roll of electrical tape can keep you alive. those little plastic pouches of kleenex are great, and cheap.
