I've got that series bill in my hand right now. Lower right hand side under the "ica" looks like 1861..The one I have is 1862.

When I was a kid I found a CSA $500.00 bill in my backyard in Hantsport Nova Scotia. I showed it to my elderly neighbor and he told me that when he was a kid...he is 90 now...he found an old bible full of confederate currency.

My backyard ended in a steep embankment and it was over the bank that we made the finds. I have never actually searched the area but have always meant to...

That is neat. A lot of Confederate politicos, etc. escaped to Canada after the war. Who knows who that bill belonged to.
