I recently acquired this set of old, and very heavy scales from an old country store that has been vacant for many years. I am trying to determine its age if possible. The following are the only numbers I have been able to find and where the numbers were located.
479 - located underneath the base and is a part of the molding (cast iron I suppose)
45LBI 453286 - on a small metal plate on top of the base (the L is a bit suspect as it could be a scratch and not an L). Either way this number gets me nothing when I search it online, so I thought it might be a plate added by the store owner.
5160 and 5162 - When I took the metal plates holding the glass windows off to clean them I saw one of the numbers on each inside of each plate, I assumed these were part numbers as they are different.
If anyone has any suggestions as to how I can age this set of scales I would truly appreciate it.
